Chapter 228 Recover

Captain Mavis shouted, instructing his men, who were patching the holes in the ship. The sound of metal hitting metal drowned out his yells. Some of the crew were welding on the port side of the ship, and some were cleaning the deck from blood and seawater. The Kraken had caused major damage to the ship, and they needed to repair it before continuing the voyage.

At the same time, some adventurers were receiving treatment. Many of them were injured from being hit by the tentacles of the Kraken. Fortunately, there were no fatalities.

While the men were busy with their work, Viktor brooded at the stern of the ship. His eyes were glued to the vast ocean, as if he had just lost something. His companions realized that there was something disturbing about the young master, but they chose not to disturb him.

"What's wrong with him?" asked Jessi.

"I don't know. He's been there for an hour," replied Viez. The red-haired woman was worried about her boss.

"Could it be because Radcliff stole his spotlight?" Jessie quipped. She squinted as she looked at him.

Viez just shrugged.

They could only guess. Jessie thought Viktor was upset because he saw Radcliff and Anna's closeness after the battle with the Kraken, while Viez guessed it was because her boss failed to defeat the Kraken. They really didn't have a clue. In the end, those two women left, giving him space to ponder.

Viktor sighed as the sea breeze blew and hit his face. Holding the magic lamp, he gazed out into the infinite blue sea.

The Djinn had not appeared at all after the battle with the Kraken. His relationship with the lamp-dwelling creature was not that of close friends, but they had been adventuring for a long time. Djinn provided assistance whenever Viktor faced an impasse.

Despite Djinn's annoying nature, they had formed a strong bond. He couldn't help but feel sad if Djinn never returned.

While Viktor was brooding, he heard a gurgling sound. Then a familiar voice called his name. Recognizing the voice, Viktor opened his eyes wide and looked into the water. He saw a blue dolphin poking its head above the surface of the water.

"Djinn!" Viktor spontaneously shouted, then quickly covered his mouth.

<Kekeke. Why do you have such a glum look on your face? You missed me, huh?

"Missed you?" Viktor clucked his tongue. "That was the last thing I thought about. I was just enjoying the sea water."

<Okay, okay. I believe you. Djinn quipped.

The young master smiled as the djinn turned into blue smoke and entered the lamp. Not long after, Viktor could feel Djinn's power reconnecting with him.

I need to tell you something important. I've used up most of my power by turning into a Kraken. Perhaps for at least a month, I will hibernate to recover my power. During that period, I couldn't help you at all. So be careful.

"Take it easy. Who do you think your master is? I'll be fine. You can sleep in peace."

<Kekeke. Good luck..>

The voices in his head disappeared. The Djinn began its hibernation.

Viktor was relieved when Djinn returned. The anxiety in his chest was gone. At the same time, he realized something important. The battle against the Kraken gave him the insight that he had to get stronger.

He couldn't forever depend on the Djinn if something bad happened.

Captain Mavis' men were still hard at work repairing the ship even as the sun slowly moved westward.

As the sky began to darken, the ship started sailing again. The crew went straight to their beds after a long day's work, while the adventurers enjoyed dinner. Some who were fit enough to stand still stood guard at the side of the ship to keep an eye out in case sea monsters attacked.

The following days looked like business as usual. The sun rose over the Caspian Sea, casting a warm glow on the mega yachts that floated above the water. Viktor and his companion's journey to the Vatican was far from over.

The sea looked calm and peaceful, and Jessie felt the morning sea breeze on her face. She stood alone at the end of the bow, trying to feel what Jack felt in the movie Titanic.

Since the Kraken attack incident, ocean voyages have become a little more peaceful. The frequency of monster attacks had decreased, and the adventurers would only intervene when Captain Mavis' men could not handle the situation.

After sailing a few days in the Caspian Sea, the ship sailed westward, moving towards the Eurasian Canal, a vast waterway connecting the Caspian Sea with the Black Sea.

It took a week for them to reach the Black Sea, and then they sailed through the Aegean Sea. There, they passed many beautiful islands. Some were uninhabited, with lush forests and pristine beaches.

The real challenge began when they sailed through the Mediterranean Sea, facing a series of violent storms that could have turned the ship upside down.

The crew worked tirelessly, kept the engines running, and repaired ships damaged by monster attacks. The adventurers battled the sea creatures that tried to threaten their ship; luckily, most of the mutants that appeared were not a threat.

However, everything returned to peace when the ship entered Tirrenia Waters. During this period, the crew and passengers mostly relaxed and enjoyed leisure time.

While everyone else on board enjoyed sunbathing or playing in the pool, Viktor has other plans in mind
