Chapter 35: Good at kissing?

"A… Another horde, much bigger than the last one, is at the east gate!" The buff man hollered, sweat dripping from his face.

No one could figure out if it was because of fear or if he ran at a respectful distance. "I don't think it should be a problem," Liam said in a firm tone because, with their current armory, he did not doubt this horde's demise.

They were just mindless zombies in the end.

"THERE ARE MORE THAN THREE THOUSAND ZOMBIES OUT THERE!" The man lost his composure and yelled, as his bulging eyes revealed his fear.

"A… and hundreds of mutants!"

The mayor's eyes widened, and he turned to Sheila, but the woman didn't even glance at him for a second.

The bad news destroyed their mood, and they separated but maintained eye contact. "I know you can see the Mayor's pitiful gaze." Cristian mused while caressing Sheila's cheeks.

Her glossy cheeks glowed, but she did not back away. "They have a strange weapon, which they call a gun, and it can help."

Well, bullets aren't endless. They're not like magic." He whispered and rubbed the skin underneath her plump pink lips. It would be the right thing to stop, as his actions triggered reactions both from his body and hers.

"I know you're not an adventurer." Her lips parted as she spoke, and Cristian smirked. "I got the payment, so in a way, I am the adventurer you needed."

"Humph! You talk like a noble. Great with words." Sheila rolled her eyes and scowled. "Well…" Cristian paused, took a step forward, and the gap between them vanished.

He lowered his head and gazed deep into her flickering blue eyes. "I'm also great with this."

Their lips met, and they engaged in a sloppy, passionate kiss.

'Did he say he was good at kissing?' Mayor Liam asked himself as he stared at the sloppy kiss.

What baffled him was the fact that the east gate was under attack by an alarming number of zombies, and yet these two considered it to be the time for their first kiss.

Lia almost facepalmed as she couldn't bear the sight. Although she had thought about her Lord a little, he wasn't good enough to handle a novice like Sheila.

A sticky string of saliva connected their glistening lips. Staring at Sheila panting with misty eyes, Cristian found himself leaning closer for another taste of her delicious lips, but Sheila quickly retreated.

Her heart thumped while her mind was clouded with fear and happiness. "Umm, didn't you say we could get stronger here? This horde looks like a good chance."

She hurriedly brought up the topic that vanished from her mind when Cristian's lips met hers. "Was it good?"

Their lust vanished instantly when the innocent Anna chirped in. They both turned to the Mayor. "We need a car."

'Great! With your help, our melee fighters will have it easy.' Liam celebrated inwardly while smiling broadly at them, but Cristian knew the mayor's focus was on Sheila.

'This is why I don't like most politicians.' He scoffed inwardly, held the hilt of his blade, and marched toward the door.

"Take us there," he said to the buff man as he walked past him.

"Is he angry with you?" Anna whispered to Sheila as Cristian walked out without giving any of them a glance. She heard muffled moans from her sister when Cristian kneaded her butt cheeks while they joined lips.

Sheila turned to her sister and bit her lower lips. "I don't think so. Let's go," she said, sealing the discussion. Recalling that passionate moment made her spine tingle.

"Here," Liam said, bringing out a key from his pocket and tossing it. The buff man caught the key, and hope returned to his eyes.

He had little doubt that these three individuals with bright-colored hair could change anything. As an ex-military, he believed in a gun more than some guy with a big sword.

Although he also had a sword, it was just a Common ranked weapon without character, which made it less valuable than a gun.

As they moved toward the east gate in a vehicle, deep creases formed on Cristian's forehead. At first through a tidy area with lush gardens, standard roads, and well-dressed people. But the bubbly atmosphere quickly dropped as the vehicle entered this part.

A good number of people here wore rags, their skins were pale, and their lips were dry and cracked. Most of them had lifeless eyes, and he could see the structure of their bones.

The rotting smell was even worse than the sewers. "What happened to these people?" Anna asked before he could.

Her brows knitted as she recalled them passing an inner wall. 'Did they cut these people out?' she queried inwardly.

"They're not important." the buff man in the front seat said curtly. Both Cristian and Anna frowned, and just as they were about to speak, Sheila signaled for them to keep silent.

Cristian felt Sheila's palms caressing his thighs, and she smiled softly, but her smile did not match the caution in her eyes.

There was something Sheila knew but he didn't, and besides, she was right, nothing good would come out of fighting the ruling powers over people they barely knew.

Especially when these people could go out there and fight for a better life.

'I like her.'

'Oh, why?' Cristian asked Lia.

'Because she understands the laws of Eternity. There is no use helping people who don't want to help themselves.' Lia's firm tone echoed in his head.

'Hmmm, I feel like she has more to say.' Cristian added, and Lia's next words stunned him. 'Because she has seen the supernaturals of this world.'

'Wait what!'

Boom! Boom!

The sounds of explosions and the vehicle screeching to a halt destroyed his conversation with his maid.

"We are here." The buff man quickly opened the door and rushed out.

Derek came down along with Sheila and Anna. They stared at the tall metal wall, which was almost six meters tall and stretched into the distance. At the top, fifty people were shooting at whatever was beyond the wall.

"They have only fifty people?!"
