Chapter 36: Purify!

Bam!

Cristian divided a zombie, bolted toward the next, and removed its head. He found out the main number was outside the gate, engaging the horde with cutlasses, swords, spears, shields, bats, and any weapon you could think of.

A cacophony of yells and growls filled the air as hundreds of fighters engaged with thousands of zombies.

The people with guns and rockets focused on hitting the dense numbers at the back. At first, Cristian wanted to keep a low profile, but killing ten zombies with no progress in his EXP bar changed his mind.

Thankfully, there were other priests, priestesses, and mages, so Shiela and Anna focused on him and Cristian let go.

He stopped suppressing his thirst and lunged forward with an aggressive personality that surpassed that of the zombies.

His speed and insane strength quickly shone in the crowd as Cristian kept going deeper. He sought a challenge from the mutants at the distance.

For some reason, the runners avoided him, which left the gigantic slow-moving ball of flesh in the distance.

Those grotesque-looking beings had no resemblance to a human as their height was a staggering 2.5 meters and the disgusting tumors around their bodies were called body amours.

Which gave these walking giants the name armored walkers.

The normal ones were called walkers, and they were the weakest, so he barely paid attention to them.

Swinging his blade recklessly, blood splattered as it tore through the soft skins of the walkers. Even while many died, they kept rushing toward him.

This was the reason the undead were so feared. They did not have any need for motivation and they had no fear.

The new top he got from the building he found Anna was now soaked in blood. Most of these zombies were barely level seven, so they were too weak to harm him, yet his stamina slowly dropped.

"Enough!" he bellowed and a large black smokey ring with a sinister aura formed around him and blasted out.

Tens of zombies aged instantly, they kept getting older until only ash remained and this rapid aging happened in a matter of seconds!

While the people at the top who could see Cristian deep into the horde were exhilarated by his destructive powers, both Sheila and Anna frowned.

They felt his powers matched the description of The Thorn's powers, but there was no way Cristian had anything to do with that man, so they shrugged it off, but it still lurked in a corner of their minds.

His speed kept increasing as the distance between him and an armored walker got reduced. There were only ten of these gigantic monsters and Cristian wanted to face one alone! Others saw it as plain suicide.

But the battlefield was really large, so Cristian's actions only attracted the few fighting around him.

He named the skill ring of decay, but the key problem was it consumed 50 points from his MP, yet he felt like he could make it more powerful by adding more.

Graa!

The gigantic zombie opened its enormous mouth, revealing its razor-sharp chompers. Both spit and tiny flesh remains from its breakfast spilled out, splattering on the surrounding walkers.

'Inspect,' he mused inwardly and maintained his speed.

[...]

[undead {mutant zombie: Armored walker}]

[Name: Mirian.]

[level: 35]

[Innate skills: armored skin, herculean strength, hunger.]

'Being hungry is a skill?!' Cristian hollered with arched brows and slowed down. A walker lunged toward him and he slapped it away with his sword.

It was just a casual smack, yet that zombie died. He didn't even spare a glance at the text stating its death, for he focused on distributing his free stats points. Once his strength reached a hundred, he dumped the last single point in Dexterity.

"Ugh!" he groaned and fell to his knees. Changes were going on in his body, making him lose control. Walkers pounded on him, but a transparent screen blocked them.

He turned his head and his lips curled into a brilliant smile that even from the distance Sheila could see and it made her beam.

"Humph!" she heard Anna snort. The golden-haired beauty raised her staff and her eyes shone with golden light.

[purify: wash away any impurities, cures, infections, and opposite affinities in a 200x200 meter space.]

A golden beam fell from the skies and all the zombies around Cristian dropped to the ground. Their skins became gray and even the Armored walker staggered. Anna's skill drew the attention of everyone on the battlefield. As they could see the golden beam from afar.

Sheila stared at her sister with a baffled face. Seeing the smug smile Anna wore, Sheila feared her sister fought for Cristian's attention.

'It can't be,' she denied inwardly, but the facts lay before her for Anna casually brought out her last mana potion and gulped it.

She had lost a hundred and fifty points from her MP, casting that skill. Boom! A loud sound caught their attention as the armored walker slammed its gigantic fist over the transparent shield and it shattered instantly, but the man it sought to squash wasn't there.

"I can't believe you were a woman," a voice echoed and Cristian appeared before its right leg and he swung down.

Bam!

It slammed its own leg and fell on one knee, but it kept swinging its arms, keeping Cristian at bay. His patience wore thin, and he dashed forward, slashing the walkers in his path.

"Die!" he roared and leaped into the air. Flames coated his blade, and it pierced deep into the armored walker's forehead.

Boom!

Dust rose, and the ground shook a little, but the smile on his face vanished when he sighted a familiar woman fighting beside a man.

"Delilah."
